Rick has 25 years of teaching and administrative experience in K-12 schools. He started as a 3rd grade classroom teacher in New York State where he also obtained his Master's Degree in Reading Education (Syracuse University). He traveled to California and led an in-between life. He was Program Director for Center Point, a residential treatment program. He finally became a successful small businessman. He became a licensed General Contractor (but that's another story). Eventually, he returned to teaching - first as an elementary reading specialist, then as a middle and high school English teacher. He became Chair of his high school ESL (ELD) Department. He also oversaw the district's Independent Study Program for five years. He has been a principal as well as a teacher. He got his Administrative Services Credential from UC Berkeley. He became his district's first Educational Technology Coordinator. He has built computer labs, designed technology infrastructure, and written State approved technology plans and grants. He has conducted numerous training sessions over the years. He has been an Educational Technology Consultant since July 2012. |
